What it’s about. Ed Altman flieht aus Los Angeles, nachdem er dort zu unrecht der sexuellen Belästigung angeklagt war. Der Psychiater findet mithilfe seiner Anwältin Kate eine neue Wohnung in Palm Springs und eröffnet eine neue Praxis. Doch anstatt mit Kate, die ihn aufrichtig liebt, glücklich zu werden, stürzt sich Ed gleich ins nächste Unheil. Er beginnt eine Affäre mit seiner Patientin Ally Mercer.
