What it’s about. Die Oberschülerin Homura Suzuko kehrt in ihre Heimatstadt Ikebukuro zurück. Nach langen Jahren kann sie endlich ihre Kindheitsfreundin Chinatsu wiedersehen und kann es kaum erwarten, sie zu treffen. Doch als sie in ihrer neuen Schule ankommt, hat sie Probleme damit, sich in die Klasse einzufügen. Eines Tages beschließt sie, dass sie mit dem Kartenspiel WIXOSS sicherlich neue Freunde finden wird. Daher kauft sie nach der Schule ein Deck und öffnet es erwartungsvoll bei sich zuhause. Doch kaum ist die Packung geöffnet, fängt das Mädchen auf der Karte an, sich zu bewegen und zu sprechen.
