What it’s about. April ist eine talentierte, aber selbstsüchtige Tänzerin. Sie wird vom Broadway verbannt und muss darum zurück in ihr Heimatkaff nach Wisconsin, wo sie wieder bei ihrem Vater einzieht. April hat nun viel damit zu tun, den Bewohnern der Kleinstadt aus dem Weg zu gehen, vor allem ihrer ersten Liebe Nick, da sie sich wie eine Versagerin fühlt. Dann kommt es besonders dick: Ihre ehemalige Tanzlehrerin drückt ihr das Training einer Gruppe junger Tänzer auf. Aber April wittert eine Chance: Als Trainerin dieser Außenseiter könnte sie vielleicht an den Broadway zurückkehren! Doch nach und nach erkennt sie, dass es im Leben Wichtigeres gibt, als in New York zu leben und berühmt zu sein…
