Die indische Unabhängigkeitsbewegung, unter der Führung von Mahatma Ghandi, kommt langsam aber sicher aus dem Untergrund hervor und träumt von einer Revolution. Vor diesem historischen Hintergrund inszeniert die britische High Society des Royal Club in Indischer Sommer jedoch ihre ganz eigenen Intrigen. Nach einem gescheiterten Attentat auf den Privatsektetär des britischen Vizekönigs deutet sich eines an: Wenn dieser indische Sommer vorbei ist, werden sich die Dinge verändert haben…
