What it’s about. Keita ist ein ganz normaler Junge. Während einer Käferjagd, findet er eine ungewöhnliche Kapselmaschine. Als er in eben diese 100 Yen einwirft, befreit er dadurch einen Geist, welcher aufgrund eines Mönches 190 Jahre in der Kapselmaschine gefangen war. Da er endlich befreit wurde, schwört der Geist dem jungen Keita seine Treue und schenkt ihm die Youkai Watch, eine Geisteruhr, mit der Keita nun alle möglichen Geister sehen kann.
