What it’s about. Bert ist ein kleiner Architekt in einem New Yorker Büro. An seinem 35. Geburtstag meldet sich sein Geschlechtsteil und will ihn zu einem lustvolleren Lebenswandel überreden. Bert mietet sich eine Wohnung, um an seiner Karriere zu arbeiten. Doch „Er“ durchkreuzt durch sein ständiges Animieren Berts Berufschancen. Seine Frau verläßt ihn, und er muß seinen Arbeitsplatz an eine Konkurrentin abgeben. Letztendlich aber versöhnt Bert sich mit „Ihm“ und mit seiner Frau wieder und wird zwei Jahre später tatsächlich Stararchitekt.
