What it’s about. Seit dem Unfalltod seiner Mutter lebt der Schüler Keita Ibuki eher zurückgezogen und hat vor allem zu seiner alten Bekannten Akane Sano engeren Kontakt. Als Personen aus seinem Umfeld von Begegnungen mit ihrem Doppelgänger erzählen, erinnert sich Keita daran, dass das bei seiner Mutter kurz vor ihrem Tod auch der Fall war. Während eines Abendessens an einem Ramen-Stand trifft er auf ein Mädchen namens Kuro, das schon bald von einem Unbekannten angegriffen wird, den sie allerdings durch ihre übermenschlichen Kräfte besiegen kann. Sie stellt sich ihm als eine Mototsumitama vor, eine Wächterin über das koexistenzielle Gleichgewicht, und scheint auch mehr über das Phänomen der Doppelgänger zu wissen, weshalb Keita ihre Nähe sucht, was sein Leben auf dramatische Weise verändern soll.
