What it’s about. Gary und Allison Brooks sind seit 15 Jahren verheiratet. Er ist Besitzer einer kleinen Malerfirma und stets der witzige Part in der Beziehung, während Allison die strenge, kontrollierende ist. Gemeinsam haben sie zwei Kinder: Tom ist 14, aufgeweckt und an allem interessiert, Louise ist 11, politisch stets korrekt und passionierte Umweltschützerin. Doch dann lässt sich Allison von Gary scheiden und alles ist anders. Die Kinder pendeln nun zwischen beiden und Gary lässt sich seit Jahren wieder auf Dates ein. Doch er hat Glück und lernt die junge Vanessa kennen. Und auch Allison hat sich nach sechs Monaten erneut gebunden, weshalb es an der Zeit ist, sich gegenseitig die neuen Partner vorzustellen. Was Gary noch nicht weiß, Allison ist mit Dr. Krandell, ihrem ehemaligen Paartherapeut, bereits wieder verlobt.
