Julia Ivanova zeigt in ihrem Film «Vaterschaftsträume», was Homosexuelle alles tun, um ein Baby zu bekommen, und wie normal es sein kann, dass ein Kind zwei Väter hat. Zwar ist die Toleranz gegenüber Homosexuellen gewachsen; wollen sie dann aber ein Baby haben, geht das vielen doch zu weit. Die Vorurteile gegen homosexuelle Eltern sind immer noch gross. Hinzu kommen die legalen Hürden. So ist in der Schweiz Leihmutterschaft nicht erlaubt, und Schwule und Lesben dürfen zwar ein Kind adoptieren, aber nur, wenn sie ledig sind und nicht in einer eingetragenen Partnerschaft leben
