What it’s about. Sogoru Kyou ist ein ganz normaler Oberschüler, der in Maihama zur Schule geht. Doch eines Tages beobachtet er in der Schwimmhalle seiner Schule eine geheimnisvolle Schönheit, die sich vor seinen Augen quasi in Luft auflöst. Kurz darauf findet er sich mit ihr zusammen in dem Kampfroboter Zegapain wieder und muss einen Feind namens „Gards-Orm“ abwehren. Das Mädchen, welches sich selbst als Shizuno vorstellt, behauptet, dies alles wäre ein Computerspiel der neuesten Generation. Um Shizuno in einem PR-Video für seinen Schwimmklub als Hauptdarstellerin dabeizuhaben, erklärt sich Sogoru bereit, gegen die Gards-Orm zu kämpfen. Doch schon bald muss er sich die Frage stellen, was nun Realität ist und was nicht.
