What it’s about. Hikaru wühlt eines Tages auf Opas Dachboden herum und entdeckt dabei ein Go-Brett. Als er die Blutflecken auf dem alten, japanischen Brettspiel wegwischen will, erscheint ihm ein Geist: Fujiwara no Sai, Go-Lehrer des Kaisers zur Heian-Zeit. Hocherfreut, dass ihn endlich nicht nur jemand sehen sondern ihm auch zuhören kann, nistet Sai sich in Hikarus Bewusstsein ein. Dieser ist darüber nicht ganz so erfreut wie sein neuer Mitbewohner, der die ganze Zeit nur Go spielen will! Hikaru selber findet Go nämlich sterbenslangweilig. Doch schon bald erkennt das ungleiche Paar, warum das Schicksal sie zusammengeführt hat...
