What it’s about. Der Archäologe Duraid al Simma und seine Frau Royan suchen nach dem Schatz des Pharaos Mamosis. Die Wegbeschreibung befand sich auf einer zerfallenen Papyrusrolle. Auch der skrupellose Millionär Grant Schiller sucht das Grab und geht dafür über Leichen. Duraid stirbt, sein Adoptivsohn Hapi wird entführt. Duraids alter Freund Nick Harper hilft Royan bei der Suche, die dank Hapi erfolgreich ist. Der Junge besitzt nämlich ein paar hilfreiche Orakelsteine, die den Weg in die Vergangenheit weisen. Seine eigene, wie sich herausstellt: Hapi ist der uneheliche Sohn der Königin Lostris und des Kriegers Tanus, den der Sklave Taita vor 5000 Jahren auf dem Nil ausgesetzt hat.
