What it’s about. Die Fortsetzung des Films "Stargate" von 1994, beschreibt die weiteren Abenteuer des SGC (Stargate Command). Es stellt sich heraus, dass der Goa'uld Ra nur einer von vielen außerirdischen Herrschern war, der das Stargate zur Eroberung des Universum benutzte. Nach der vollständigen Entschlüsslung des Stargates, können nun Reisen ins ganze Universum unternommen werden. Das Militär sendet SG-Teams um diese neuen Welten zu erforschen, um neue Technologien zu entdecken und sich den Goa'uld zu stellen. Die Charakter Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson aus dem Film sind teil von SG-1. Begleitet werden sie von Sam Carter, einer Wissenschaftlerin, und Teal'c, einem Jaffa, der davon überzeugt ist, dass die Goa'uld keine Götter sind.
