What it’s about. Die Trompetertochter Wilhelmine Enke (Anja Kruse) wird die Mätresse des Kronprinzen Friedrich Wilhelm II. (Rainer Hunold), dem Nachfolger von Friedrich dem Großen (Herbert Stass). Dass die schöne Wilhelmine ein Bürgerliche ist, macht die Liebe zwischen ihr und dem dicken Wilhelm zu einem Problem. Also verheiratet Friedrich Wilhelm sie mit einem Kammerdiener und hat sie weiter in seiner Nähe. Später erhebt er sie in den Adelsstand und macht sie zur Gräfin Lichtenau. Nach seinem Tod wird ihr der Prozess wegen Hochverrats gemacht, jedoch erfolglos. Sie verbringt ihren Lebensabend in einem kleinen Häuschen in der Nähe von Berlin.
