What it’s about. 6 tlg. dt. Krimiserie nach den Büchern von Arthur Conan Doyle, Regie: Paul May. Sherlock Holmes (Erich Schellow) und Dr. Watson (Paul Edwin Roth) ermitteln. Sie werden unterstützt von der Haushälterin Mrs. Hudson (Manja Kafka). Meist auf der falschen Fährte ist Inspektor Lestrade (Hans Schellbach). Adaption von britischen Fernsehspielen. Der WDR ließ einfach die Drehbücher der BBC übersetzen, ähnlich wie es bei den Durbridge-Krimis üblich und erfolgreich war. Kein Wunder, das Team hinter den Kulissen war bei Doyle fast dasselbe wie bei den meisten Durbridge-Krimis, von der Übersetzerin Marianne de Barde bis zum Regisseur.
