What it’s about. Eine reiche alte Dame gibt dem Lumpensammler Peppino und seiner Frau Antonia einmal im Jahre die Chance, bei einem Kartenspiel, reich zu werden. Sie schenkt ihnen bei zu jedem Spiel 1 Million Lire "Spielgeld". Doch Peppino und Antonia verlieren das Geld jedesmal. Als sie jedoch eines Tages doch einmal 7 Millionen Lire abstauben, erwacht in ihnen die Gier nach mehr. Und die alte Dame möchte unbedingt ihr Geld zurück haben. In einer Partie "Doppelt oder nichts" soll sich alles entscheiden. Doch es kommt vollkommen anders als man denken mag. Wer wird das Spiel am Ende gewinnen?
