What it’s about. Paris, 1830: König Karl X. unterdrückt das Volk, das seinen Vetter Prinz Louis Philippe liebt und schätzt. Aber noch mehr lieben sie Debureau, einen Komödianten, der sich mit Spottversen gegen die Tyrannei auflehnt. Sein Hass ist nicht nur politischer, sondern auch persönlicher Natur.
