What it’s about. Momo, Sohn algerischer Einwanderer, und sein bester Freund und Mentor Jacky schlagen sich mit Gelegenheitsjobs und als Kleinkriminelle durchs Leben. Als der schmierige Stéphane Darcy eine internationale Boule-Meisterschaft mit 500.000 Euro Preisgeld ankündigt, wittern Momo und Jacky ihre große Chance. Fortan trainiert Jacky seinen Zögling Momo Tag und Nacht. Trotz aller Ressentiments und mit Hilfe der selbstbewussten Caroline wird Momo ins französische Team gewählt und avanciert bald zum Star und Teamchef. Als der Sponsor jedoch Widerstand gegen den algerisch-stämmigen Momo anmeldet und dieser als vermeintlich illegaler Einwanderer abgeschoben wird, sieht sich Momo am Ende seiner Träume. Caroline und Jacky geben jedoch nicht auf und überzeugen Momo, sich noch mal ins Rennen zu begeben – diesmal als Chef des algerischen Teams…
