What it’s about. Nach einem brutalen Schicksalsschlag ist das Leben für die junge Psychologin Dr. Jane Mathis nicht mehr dasselbe. Erst zwei Jahre später ist sie bereit, zurück in einen geregelten Alltag zu finden, nach der sehr belastenden Zeit endlich wieder die Kontrolle zu bekommen. Deswegen nimmt sie einen neuen Patienten an, will auf diesem Umweg auch sich selbst helfen. Der Mann, Alex, hatte einen schlimmen Unfall, der ihn entsetzlich entstellte und den er nicht aus dem Kopf bekommt. Doch die Arbeit mit ihrem neuen Patienten ist ungesund für Jane. Immer öfter plagen sie Visionen, in denen sie an ihr eigenes Trauma erinnert wird. Ihr Psychologe Terry muss feststellen, dass Jane keine Fortschritte mehr macht, ganz im Gegenteil. Und bald wird es für sie auch körperlich gefährlich…
