What it’s about. Südamerika, im 18. Jahrhundert: Der Jesuitenpater Gabriel bricht in den Urwald auf, um die dort lebenden Indios zum Christentum zu bekehren. Zusammen mit dem ehemaligen Söldner Rodrigo errichtet er weitab von den Siedlungen der spanischen und portugiesischen Kolonisatoren eine Missionsstation.
