What it’s about. Der hochdekorierte Marineoffizier Tom Farrell beginnt im Pentagon, seinem neuen Arbeitsplatz, ein Verhältnis mit Susan Atwell, ohne zu ahnen, daß sie die Geliebte des Verteidigungsministers David Brice ist. Der tötet Susan bei einem Streit und will sich der Polizei stellen. Das aber wird ihm von Mitarbeiter Scott Pritchard ausgeredet, der die Suche nach dem Mitwisser der Tat - Tom Farrell - in die Jagd nach einem Sowjetspion namens Yuri umfunktioniert. Tom erhält den Auftrag, Yuri zu suchen. Als sich die Situation zuspitzt, läßt Brice Pritchard fallen, der sich erschießt. Was keiner ahnt, Tom ist wirklich Yuri, der jetzt das volle Vertrauen von Brice besitzt.
