What it’s about. Der ziellose Franzose Edouard Binet reist seit vielen Jahren durch Nordafrika und segelt nach Belgien. Unterwegs trifft er Sylvie Baron. Er stellt ihr Nemrod Lobetoum vor, einen reichen Ägypter, der wertvollen Schmuck trägt, und Sylvie und Nemrod werden Freunde. Ihre Freundschaft eskaliert zur Liebe, was Edouard eifersüchtig macht. Tage später kommt Edouard in einem Wohnhaus von Frau an. Louise Baron, Sylvies Mutter, trägt blutbefleckte Kleidung.
