Released in 2014, Hippokrates und ich is a komödie and drama film directed by Thomas Lilti, running about 101 minutes. “Diary of a French Doctor” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Nach seinem Studium hat der 23-jährige Benjamin seine erste Stelle als Assistenzarzt in einem öffentlichen Pariser Krankenhaus. Etwas überheblich als "Gott in Weiß" fühlend, tritt er den Job an. Doch schnell holt ihn der zermürbende Alltag als Assistenzarzt in der Inneren Medizin ein. Zudem muss er feststellen, dass ein zweiter Assistenzarzt mit Migrationshintergrund, ihm fachlich und auch menschlich, mit dem Umgang mit Patienten, überlegen ist. Trotzdem wird er bevorzugt behandelt, da er der Sohn des Chefs der Abteilung ist. Bald bekommt er Zweifel am System, wo es nur darum geht, persönliche Vorteile zu ziehen und Fehler möglichst zu vertuschen. Regisseur Thomas Lilti war vor seiner Tätigkeit beim Film selbst Assistenzarzt und lässt seine persönlichen Erfahrungen in den Film einfließen.
