What it’s about. Antoine arbeitet in einem Buchverlag. Seine Frau Antoinette betreut einen kleinen Fotofix in einem Kaufhaus. Die Dachwohnung der beiden ist alt und heruntergekommen und das Geld sehr knapp. Der lüsterne Gemüsehändler von der anderen Seite der Straße macht der schönen Antoinette den Hof, was einen Konflikt mit deren Ehemann unausweichlich macht. Der Film kommt erst richtig in Fahrt als ein Lotterielos, welches Antoinette sich kaufte, mit 800.000 Franc das Leben des Paares zum Besseren verändern könnte. Doch leider verliert Antoine das Los auf dem Weg zur Einlösestelle.
