What it’s about. Es ist nur noch eine Woche verblieben, bis der Witwer David seine Verlobte Lauren zum Altar führen soll; nun will er die letzte Zeit noch nutzen, um mit ihr nach Columbien zu fahren und dort seine Teenager-Tochter Jill abzuholen. Jill ist in Bogota, der Heimatstadt ihrer verblichenen Mutter, und besucht dort ihre Tante Gina und ist von der Verlobung ihres Vaters alles andere als begeistert. Daher will sie erst gar nicht in die Vereinigten Staaten zurückkehren. David findet sie schließlich und schleppt sie zum Flughafen, doch ihr Ausweis befindet sich sechs Stunden entfernt in Medellin. Auf dem Weg in die Stadt Medellin haben sie einen Autounfall. Durch eine Schlammlawine müssen sie in einem heruntergekommenen Gasthaus unterkommen. Sie entdecken, dass der alte Gastwirt ein junges Mädchen bei sich im Keller eingesperrt hat und sind daraufhin fest entschlossen, sie zu befreien. Dadurch entfesseln sie ein uraltes böses Monster, das alles verwüstet, was ihm in die Queere kommt...

How it landed. With an audience score of 5.5/10, Gallows Hill has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $5.8M at the box office.
