What it’s about. In dem kleinen schottischen Dorf Ferness wird Öl gefunden. Sofort steht mit Mr. Harper der Besitzer eines gigantischen amerikanischen Ölkonzerns bereit, um das Dorf in eine Raffinerie zu verwandeln. Vorher schickt er allerdings noch seinen Angestellten MacIntyre der selber noch nie in Schottland war, nach Ferness, um die Dorfbewohner von den Vorteilen der Ölindustrie zu überzeugen. MacIntyre stößt allerdings auf regen Widerstand der Dörfler und ist zudem, ebenso wie Harper, angetan von der wundervollen Landschaft und den Menschen die dort leben....
