What it’s about. Um den permanenten Angriffen Godzillas auf Japans Städte ein Ende zu bereiten wird das G-War Hauptquartier eingerichtet. Dort entwickelt man eine Anti-Godzilla-Bombe die ein schwarzes Loch erzeugt, das das grüne Monster aufsaugen soll. Während eines letzten Tests unterläuft ein Fehler und das Tor zu einer anderen Dimension wird geöffnet. Heraus kommt eine Riesenlarve aus der nach kurzer Zeit 5-Meter-lange Riesenlibellen schlüpfen, die Meganulas. Sie sammeln Energie und pumpen sie in eine weitere Larve aus der schließlich jenes Monster schlüpft mit dem selbst Godzilla nicht gerechnet hätte: Megaguirus ein gigantischer Riesenkäfer. Der will sofort Godzillas Energie anzapfen und so wird Japan schließlich zum Schlachtfeld auf dem sich Godzilla, Megaguirus und die Menschheit gegenüber stehen...

Who’s in it. Godzilla vs. Megaguirus stars Misato Tanaka as Kiriko Tsujimori, Masatô Ibu as Motohiko Sugiura, Shosuke Tanihara as Hajime Kudo and Yuriko Hoshi as Yoshino Yoshizawa, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 6.6/10, Godzilla vs. Megaguirus has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $11.1M at the box office.
