Ian McDiarmid (* 11. August 1944 in Carnoustie, Schottland) ist ein schottischer Schauspieler und Regisseur. McDiarmid ist vor allem durch seine Darstellung des ‚Imperators Palpatine‘ bzw. ‚Darth Sidious‘ in der „Star-Wars“-Filmreihe bekannt geworden. Für seine Darstellungen wurde er mit einem Olivier Award als bester Schauspieler und einem Tony Award als bester Hauptdarsteller ausgezeichnet.
