Renzo, a Gypsy, falls madly in love with Dolores, a young woman facing an unhappy and difficult family situation. After her mother's death, Dolores is left alone with her nanny and her brother Humberto, a man of weak character. Renzo’s love is returned by Dolores, but the couple's future is threatened by a villain named Rodolfo Farnesio—a wealthy, powerful man accustomed to getting whatever he wants.
