What it’s about. Mendoza, un oficial de la Armada Española, contempla tristemente el crucero "Cervera", desguazado después de prestar gloriosos servicios durante tantos años. Recuerda con nostalgia la historia del barco, tan unida a su propia historia. Allí conoció a Mary, su novia, y cuando ambos se creían los seres más felices del mundo, el estallido de la Guerra civil los separó bruscamente.
