What it’s about. Richard encabeza un comando cuya misión es volar un puente sobre el río Elba, para que de ese modo puedan llegar a la frontera las tropas norteamericanas antes que las rusas. En su itinerario hacia su destino recogen a dos mujeres polacas, utilizadas por los rusos como prostitutas. Aunque su permanencia con el comando da lugar a varios altercados, las mujeres demuestran poco a poco su coraje arriesgando su vida en la operación.
