What it’s about. El ejecutivo de negocios Nick Porter comienza una aventura con la arquitecta paisajista Holly mientras trota de camino a ver a su medio hermano Benjamin 'Ben' Goldman, un autor solitario que heredó una propiedad de su padre, también autor. Recomendada por Nick, Holly viene a renovar el jardín para Ben, cuya actitud distante la molesta, pero en realidad ella es su primer amor. Nick se entera de esto y de que Ben tiene cáncer terminal, pero rechaza el tratamiento, sintiendo que su vida no tiene sentido, por lo que Nick presiona a Holly para que finja estar enamorada de Ben, quien descubre la verdad de la peor manera posible en el peor momento posible.
