What it’s about. Un joven capellán del ejército norteamericano, John Flaherty (Christopher Reeve), toma parte en el desembarco aliado en Italia durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Pasa del terreno de batalla al ambiente del Vaticano, donde su personalidad no tarda en destacar, y donde recibe la difícil misión de conseguir fondos para rehacer las reservas económicas, muy maltrechas debido a la guerra.
