What it’s about. Nance Pelot intenta con valentía mantenerse a sí misma y a su padre Joe, el borracho del pueblo, tocando el piano en un desagradable café de carretera propiedad de Larry Shayne. Chet Todd, el hijo de un herrero, está enamorado de Nance, pero su reputación ha sido manchada por su profesión, y por eso la madre de Chet la desaprueba. Nance hereda una pequeña granja de su madre, y cuando Shayne descubre que la propiedad es valiosa, conspira para engañar a Nance con su herencia.
