What it’s about. Es la evolución de una familia a lo largo de treinta años de historia china. Se inicia el último año de la Revolución Cultural (1976), cuando el pequeño Xiangyang, de nueve años, se reencuentra con un padre al que ya no recuerda y que ha pasado los últimos seis años en un campo de trabajo. Durante ese tiempo, Xiangyang se ha acostumbrado a su independencia, a jugar con los otros niños y a recorrer los callejones de Beijing.
