What it’s about. En el siglo XVI Santiago, un fraile dominico, es el único superviviente de una expedición que salió en busca de los míticos Mares del Sur bajo la dirección del cruel Gazcuña. Gracias a su fe cristiana y a su ardor misionero, se integra entre los indios caribeños, hasta que, tras un incidente con el jefe de la tribu, se ve obligado a huir con su mujer y su hijo. Es detenido por los soldados españoles y acusado de hereje, lo que significa Inquisición y tortura. Pero el verdadero secreto que los mercenarios quieren arrancarle es el lugar en el que Gazcuña ha escondido 30.000 pesos en oro.
