La Asamblea decretó la validez de la Constitución de 1825, al igual que la de la Federación Centroamericana; y declaró la adhesión de Costa Rica a la República de Centroamérica. Dos meses después, Francisco Morazán fue fusilado la tarde del 15 de septiembre de 1842.
