What it’s about. Lanzarote, años treinta. Un médico vasco y un vulcanólogo inglés compiten por el amor de Mararía, una muchacha ansiosa por salir del aislamiento que le impone la isla. Ella se enamora del inglés, pero él la deja plantada el día de la boda. Al estallar la Guerra Civil (1936-1939), el médico tiene que marcharse. A su regreso, estalla la tragedia. Una tragedia profetizada por la santera Herminia, la madrina de Mararía.
