What it’s about. El comisario Santamaria, un romano de guardia en la Jefatura de Policía de Turín, está encargado de investigar el asesinato del famoso arquitecto Garrone. La presunta arma homicida -un falo de mármol- y ciertas circunstancias le llevan a sospechar de Anna Carla, una encantadora dama de la rica burguesía por la que el policía se siente inmediatamente atraído, y de Massimo, un amigo suyo que está unido por una especial amistad con Lello, un empleado municipal. La investigación se detiene por las pistas enmarañadas y las recomendaciones de los superiores que tienen miedo de agitar un avispero. Pero Lello, decidido a exonerar a Massimo, sigue un camino muy diferente al de Santamaría, y hurga entre las corrupciones documentadas en el catastro.
