What it’s about. Gartxot es un trovador del siglo XII de los Pirineos que es enviado al exilio por el nuevo abad de Roncevallis. Los objetivos de este abad son capturar al único hijo de Gartxot, Mikelot, y convertirlo en un monje cantante. Después de ser capturado y torturado, el niño logra escapar y canta una vez más junto a su padre y le promete que nunca más le permitirá encerrarlo en el monasterio. Sus canciones se convierten en un símbolo de la lucha contra la opresión. Una y otra vez, con la ayuda de la gente, logran sacudir a las autoridades.
