What it’s about. Recién terminada la Guerra Civil americana (1861-1865), dos hombres se proponen la difícil tarea de conducir ganado desde Texas hasta Montana. Para ello deberán luchar contra los forajidos, los indios y la propia Naturaleza. Uno de ellos, Ben Allison (Gable), ayudado por su hermano Clint (Cameron Mitchell), se propone conseguir una gran fortuna robando ganado. Pero para ello tendrá que asociarse con Nathan Stark (Ryan), un importante ganadero que tiene que conducir una gran manada.
