What it’s about. La pareja de escaladores Heinz Mariacher y Luisa Iovane abandonan su lugar habitual de entrenamiento invernal para ir en busca de lugares más propicios para la escalada libre en Argelia, en el desierto del Sahara, más precisamente en el macizo de Hoggar, que vio pasar a la flor y nata de la escalada mundial Lionel Terray. Roger Frison-Roche, Lucien Bérardini, Michel Vaucher, Pierre Mazeaud, Guido Monzino, Patrick Edlinger, Patrick Berhault y muchos otros. Su objetivo, escalar la cara este del Garet El Djenoun, de 500 m de altura, fracasó porque la pared era demasiado lisa y las grietas inestables. El viaje continúa en el macizo de Hoggar hacia otros picos, donde encuentran las condiciones de escalada que esperaban. Un desplome frente a Tizouyag Nord será un gran desafío para Heinz Mariacher.
