La Batalla de los Planetas, conocida también como Comando G, es la primera adaptación animada para televisión estadounidense hecha por Sandy Frank; de la serie de anime Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman que narra las aventuras de cinco jóvenes que defienden la Tierra de las amenazas del Espacio Exterior. Esta edición de la serie fue emitida en Estados Unidos en 1978, y tanto el guion como el orden de los episodios del original Gatchaman fueron alterados con una temática similar a Star Wars. También fueron dibujadas nuevas escenas como las del robot 7-Zark-7, inexistente en la versión japonesa.
