What it’s about. El joven periodista Tintín, su perro Milú y su amigo el capitán Haddock pasan una noche en un music hall. Allí, son testigos del espectáculo del faquir Ragdalam y su clarividente, madame Yamilah, que predice la enfermedad de uno de los miembros de la expedición Sanders-Hardmuth, que recientemente regresó de una expedición arqueológica a las montañas de los Andes. También asisten al acto de un lanzador de cuchillos quien Tintín reconoce como el general Alcázar, el ex presidente de San Theodoros. Tintín y el capitán se reúnen con él entre bastidores y Alcázar les presenta a su asistente indio, Chiquito, y descubren que fue depuesto (una vez más) por su rival el general Tapioca.
