What it’s about. París, 1942. Durante la ocupación nazi, el charcutero Edmond Batignole, un hombre tímido y de carácter más bien débil, se convierte en proveedor oficial del ejército alemán gracias a Jean-Pierre, el novio de su hija, un colaboracionista que delata a los judíos. Cuando los Bernstein, vecinos de los Batignole, son arrestados y sus bienes confiscados, el piso que ocupaban es cedido a los Batignole.
