What it’s about. Maria es la encarnación de la pureza, jamás un hombre ha puesto en ella la mano, su madre la preparó desde muy niña para que profesara en un convento. Pero un día fue enviada por la superiora a cuidar del terrateniente del lugar, D. Nini, que agonizaba en la soledad. La llegada del sobrino de éste reaviva al viejo. D. Nini no quiere morir dejando una estela de amargura y exige a su sobrino que se divierta y sobre todo que salga con mujeres. Las confidencias a viva voz de tío y sobrino son aceptadas por Maria como un suplicio más, aunque poco a poco el sentimiento que profesa al sobrino es algo distinto a la piedad por un alma descarriada.
