What it’s about. Jonathan Graves hereda la mansión de su tío, el famoso satanista Malcolm Graves. En la fiesta de inauguración de su nueva casa, decide inspirarse en una serie de rituales satánicos para dar una sorpresa a los presentes, pero algo terrible sucede... Conjura a una horda de pequeños "Goblins" llamados Ghoulies. Estos pequeños y malévolos espíritus intentarán por todos los medios crear un ritual, en el cual sacrificarían a todos los presentes, para que así se abran las puertas del infierno y escape el mismísimo Diablo... Considerados como una copia cutre de "Gremlins" de serie B (apenas costó 1 millón de dólares), obtuvo sin embargo un considerable éxito de taquilla, principalmente en el -entonces emergente- mercado de video, siendo tan rentable (recaudó sólo en USA 35 millones de dólares) que propició que se hicieran varias secuelas.
