Don Hertzfeldt plays the role of an angry, heartbroken animator in this clever, meta-satire of male fragility. A cartoon pick-up artist is violently torn to pieces by women, as seen through his one-sided, ridiculously melodramatic point of view. Despite this being Hertzfeldt's first student film, HBO named it "The World's Funniest Cartoon" in 1998.
