A desperate call alerts the Kiel Police: "He's in my apartment, he comes through the wall.". But for Carmen Kessler help comes too late. The young woman is found brutally murdered in her apartment. Commissioner Borowski and his colleague Sarah Brandt face a conundrum: Although the apartment door is locked and the offender has left no trace at the scene, the killer seems to be with the victim and gone. He has secretly lived with her, her anonymous gifts and studied every habit of his victim.
