Shubho Kemon Achho is a social drama with a based in psychological treatment. Set in the city of Kolkata, it is the story of a common man, Shubho, who is shown to experience the daily wrongs that we all notice in life but say nothing against or even revolt. He is emotionally and psychologically affected by the world that is becoming a bad place, and finds a solace in his friend and lover Nita. The movie makes one aware of how we have normalized our thought processes to the crimes of man like murder, robbery, rape and terrorism and corruption, pollution and everything else. The movie progresses to make Shubho lose his mind at the current events that is plaguing all the good in the world and this gradually makes him mentally unstable. Both Shubho's brother and Nita try to make him better but get no result. The story ends on how he gives up on the world and chooses a life of freedom, away from the city
